September 7, 2013 <<Toronto International Film Festival>> The day finally came for my most notable shoot of the year but as always the stress attached to the entire production was near overwhelming. I had to keep the shoot within budget, pray that no major problem arose, and double-pray that Dan's schedule did not run behind. Daniel was technically 1 minute late (he arrived at 2:01pm) but luckily in industry terms he was an hour early (lol). I remember this because Dan had emphatically apologized for being late, which I found interestingly charming.
Dan had a cavalier demeanor about him that my team and I found very pleasant, and artistically conducive. He went into wardrobe trying on whatever popped out at him, and once the right outfits were agreed upon; he whisked in-and-out of hair and make up and onto my set. I photographed at speed for the remaining 2 hours of the shoot and often recall Dan asking if i was happy with the results I was getting. Dan gave me every pose he could think of in the 2 hours I had. He was quick with his poses, quick to use the props available, and had a genuine interest in committing himself in the time we had. The shoot came to a conclusion and Dan continued onto his next appointment. He had a lasting impression, in a very positive way.

May 2, 2014. This type of movement editorial was not an easy story to create. I spent a few days pulling images for my storyboard and heavily conversing with my stylist about the kind of clothing that we thought would work well. We selected the very best model that we thought could move like our storyboard. It came down to an educated guess because many models do not have these types of images in their portfolio.
The beginning of the shoot was sluggish since we had to try different set-ups and play around creatively to come closer to the shots we were aiming for. It took 3-4 times longer to get the one perfect image (1-2 hrs per look). We ended up having to break the story into 2 days (inside studio and outside). In some images we couldn't get the desired effect and I therefore had to do a little photo manipulation to create it. For example, the dancing image outside was actually a composite of 3 entirely different images. I also made a decision to kill one look/image because I could not get the flow to work with the rest of the story, which can happen with inexperience. Sometimes I do what it takes to create a great story for a magazine commission; especially when a few thousand dollars were spent on the pre and post production of this shoot.

November 20, 2011.
Credits: A big thank you to the wonderful Fairmount Royal York for letting us use the entire 14th floor for our shoot.
Thank you to my team members; Stylist: Marek Matwiejczuk, Makeup, Hair and Nails by Dylan K. Hanson at Judy Inc., and our model DJ at Sutherland Models.
Monika Mar from Push The Talent - This was a fantastic piece in which my inspiration was to shoot beauty without any make-up or hair. I styled this myself because I wanted to show my intern that you can shoot gorgeous stories without the constraint of trying to find an entire team of artists.
August 16th, 2011 Shooting this cover for my favourite publication, Schön! Magazine, remains one of my career highlights.
Rick Genest, aka Zombie Boy, was a moving piece of art. Very little direction was needed to get the magic needed for the images to be created. He was delight to shoot and a talented artist.
Credits: A big thank you to the fashion editor of Schön! Magazine, Kay Korsh, for flying all the way to Montreal from London. My team: Make-up: Dylan K. Hanson at Judy Inc.
July 31, 2013 I love this editorial but you have to admit that its key feature is how cute Isaac is. Its rare for kids to be used in editorials but it tells such an interesting story.
Thank you to my team; Stylist: Amarsana Gendunova at Lang Management, Hair: Rafael Estrella Dunn at Dulcedo Artists, Make-up: Dylan K. Hanson at Judy Inc.
May 16, 2012 This photoshoot has an interesting twist which is that the cover was originally meant for Cam Gigandet but unfortunately due to a last minute emergency he was unable to work with us. We had to confirm a new talent within 12 hours. We had flown into LA and were leaving the evening of the shoot.
Colton performed beautifully. He had a lot of previous modeling experience so this was a walk in the park for him. The only problem that arose from this switch is the clothing was meant for someone a couple sizes larger so alterations had to be made within photoshop. It is a wonderful story.
Thank you to Essential Homme Magazine and to my team; Fashion Editor: Terry Lu at Essential Homme, Grooming by Mira at NEXT LA
March 9, 2012 River was an absolute treat to shoot. His movement and creativity in front of the lens is beautiful to endure.

March 16, 2012 <<5:33AM in Joshua Tree National Park, California>> The most memorable of all my photoshoots and mostly because it was the most breathe-taking in beauty. We had the most exquisite clothing and a striking model. Images speak a thousand words and in this case it's particularly true.
RIP Dmitriy. Our model passed away in the fall of 2013. You were a funny and kind person whom I will always remember.
Credits: A big thank you to Essential Homme Magazine for making this shoot come to life. A big big thanks goes to Jason at Soul Artist Management for giving us one of his top models on less than 12 hours notice (you kind of rock my socks mister). My team members; Fashion Editor: Terry Lu, Hair and Make up by Rafael Estrella-Dunn at Dulcedo Artists and Dmitriy Tanner at Soul Artist Management.
September 17, 2010 This is what I would classify as purely gorilla style shooting. Basically, it was just myself, the model, and my stylist. We both did the hair and travelled back and forth between location and my stylists apartment (we were somewhere in Manhattan). I was climbing on dumpsters, shooting from 3rd story windows, and from the middle of the street.
BLOOPER ALERT: I had photographed 2 and a half looks before realizing my camera was set on super super low resolution images. I had to reshoot all the looks. Needless to say I haven't made that mistake again.
The entire shoot took 2 hours which is very fast but the results are stunning.
Big thanks to my very small team; Angelo Desanto (www.AngeloDesanto.com) and model/singer: Josh Beech at DNA Models.
These are just some fun and creative images of Daniel
February 20, 2013 A fantastically tall character and easy to work with as well. I loved his energy and creativity.
Thanks to my team; Hair and Make-up: Rafael Estrella-Dunn at Dulcedo Artists, Stylist: Angelo Desanto (www.AngeloDesanto.com)
February 7, 2015 This photoshoot was a lucky surprise. Mason has creativity of movement that goes beyond anything that can be easily learnt through experience, at least in modeling. His movement is similar water streaming over rock. Switching from one movement to another in such a fluid way that it looks like a beautiful dance. A beautiful dance indeed as my stylist had done his research and he let loose Masons dance history being a back-up dancer for Taylor Swift for the past 2 tours!
A big thanks to my stylist Ivan Sauma and Vision Models LA.
September 3, 2012 One of the most energetic models I have photographed. She is creative and confident enough to make whatever you throw on her, work. She created shots that I couldn't foresee myself. She creates her own story which is a rare gift.
A big thank you to the W-Hotel in Montreal for lending out their E-WOW suite and to my team; Stylist: Marek Matwiejczuk, Hair: Liliane at Judy Inc., Make-up: Johanne Doyon at Judy Inc., and Bianca at Specs Models.
February 8, 2014 Possibly some of the most beautiful outfitted looks I've photographed.
Thanks to my wonderfully spontaneous team; Stylist/Art Direction: Randy Smith at Judy Inc., Make-up and Hair: Sandra Yang at Judy Inc., and the model: Happy at Next Canada
December 19th, 2014 I absolutely love these commercial images and the clothing was spectacular to photograph.
