September 7, 2013 <<Toronto International Film Festival>> The day finally came for my most notable shoot of the year but as always the stress attached to the entire production was near overwhelming. I had to keep the shoot within budget, pray that no major problem arose, and double-pray that Dan's schedule did not run behind. Daniel was technically 1 minute late (he arrived at 2:01pm) but luckily in industry terms he was an hour early (lol). I remember this because Dan had emphatically apologized for being late, which I found interestingly charming.
Dan had a cavalier demeanor about him that my team and I found very pleasant, and artistically conducive. He went into wardrobe trying on whatever popped out at him, and once the right outfits were agreed upon; he whisked in-and-out of hair and make up and onto my set. I photographed at speed for the remaining 2 hours of the shoot and often recall Dan asking if i was happy with the results I was getting. Dan gave me every pose he could think of in the 2 hours I had. He was quick with his poses, quick to use the props available, and had a genuine interest in committing himself in the time we had. The shoot came to a conclusion and Dan continued onto his next appointment. He had a lasting impression, in a very positive way.
